this is beautiful :)

I love this drawing and the sense of movement surrounding it. The fluidity of the lines and forms within the drawing really appeals to me and gives the drawing a real sense of actuality and accuracy.

Matteo Massagrande - Spiaggia. Mixed media on wood, 60x50 cm

I really like the textural aspects to this painting and lifelike elements within it. I love the way the sand is painted - it reminds me of ripped paper and looks as if it has been painted over an already treated background.

There is a clear sense of anonymity in this painting which is exaggerated by the use of one single tone of grey covering the entire face. I love the white detail near the neck because of the way the paint merges with the tones of black and grey - it gives this predominantly grey painting some body and a sense of movement.

Clarity’ - Gold emulsion, acrylic, spray paint, marker pen and graphite stick. 180cm x 230cm.

The colour combinations in this painting really interest me - especially that of the white against the subtle, multi tonal background.

I love the way these pieces were painted; the way colour is used within each piece to exaggerate the subtle details within the paint work really appeals to me. I especially like the bottom two paintings and the colours used seem more fluid and loose.

I love the way this painting incorporates both abstract and figurative elements. I really love the way the abstracted elements are painted and the colours used - it really gives the painting a textural aspect. The dripped paint is something I really want to experiment with further  in my own work.

It’s the line detail in abstract paintings like this that really appeals to me. I love the way patches of different colours are sealed off from the colour next to it through the use of brisk, spontaneous lines. I also love the overlapping of colours and they way they are often toned down by the use of washes of white. It’s paintings like this that really inspire my own work.

Anthropometry: ANT 130 (1960) by Yves Klein. Bodyprint/torso of pigment and synthetic resin paint on paper, on canvas

This painting seems like such an organic formation; the way the paint moves along the canvas, the way it curves and develops, really interests me as it reads like a movement or a gesture. I’m currently basing a project around specific movements and despite being completely simple, this painting itself is extremely effective when considering this idea.
